About me

My name is Cathalee. I started this blog back in April of 2008 (I think…) to boo hoo over a boy, because I was tired of talking about how sad I was to my friends and decided to put it down in today’s version of a diary. I didn’t think anyone other than my friends would visit my blog, but apparently, people like reading posts written by a crybaby.

I grew up outside of Dallas, Texas, but now live in Big D. This means that I say “hey” and “y’all” a lot. Sometimes I slip and even say “fixin’“. It’s a Texas thing.

I love sports, but I’m kind of selective. I love football, but I only pay attention to Dallas Cowboys games. I’m a Cowboys fan by default you could say. I only watch swimming, gymnastics, figure skating, skiing and et cetera during the Olympics. I only watch soccer (or football to the rest of the world) during the World Cup. I got into baseball only after the Texas Rangers went to the 2010 World Series. I was totally team Rangers until I became obsessed with Tim Lincecum (pitcher for the San Francisco Giants), which made us losing to the Giants not so bad.

I love sushi and could eat that stuff every single day. I love Mexican food, but only if it’s Taco Bueno. I love to cook, but it only works if there’s people to cook for. Clusters freak me out and I hate the word “moist”. It just sounds dirty and I refer to it as the “m” word.

If I could have dinner with three people, dead or alive, I would choose to dine with John F. Kennedy, Anthony Bourdain and Sandra Bullock. You can come up with your own reasons why.

I’m not a writer so you’ll most likely find grammatical errors and spelling mistakes (if I forget to spell check) in my posts – I sorry.

I’m Thai-American, but I super suck at math. I felt like I should let you know that, because there’s a misconception that all Asians are good at math. I am not one of these Asians. I had a fourth grade teacher who told my parents at parent-teacher conference that she “had never had an Asian student who wasn’t good at math before.” Aces.

I make fun of myself a lot on this blog, because it’s easier to laugh at yourself. You shouldn’t take yourself too seriously anyway. You won’t find any political opinions or religious views on this site. This doesn’t mean that I don’t identify with a political party or that I don’t have a religion. I do, but that’s my business and I won’t put that anyone.

Someone once said “it may be that your sole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.” Sometimes, I feel like that he was talking about me… ;)
