I’m still here! I hope you haven’t been worried about me. It’s just that life is a little boring right now and I don’t have much to talk about. The only thing that’s on my mind right now is the beginning of the fall season. Football season starts tomorrow. Go Cowboys!

Plus all my shows are coming back on the air!!!!!

The top 5 shows I’m looking forward to watching are:

Criminal Minds

Can I just tell you how bummed out I am that the big cheeses at CBS have decided not to pick up A.J. Cook’s option and thus firing her from Criminal Minds. I guess I should be grateful that enough fans complained and they’re letting J.J. come back for 2 episodes to tie up her storyline. It’s my hope that J.J. decides to leave in order to spend more time with her young family (Will and Henry) in light of what happened to Hotch and his family. I, for one, will miss you J.J.

NCIS

Can Ziva and DiNozzo get together already? Can McGee get some love too? Just saying.

The Vampire Diaries

Because I want to lick Ian Somerhalder up one side and down the other. He’s HOT and he’s bad. I should probably heart me some Stefan, but brooding heroes went out with Dylan McKay.

Besides sighing over Damon, I’m so looking forward to Katherine showing up and killing a bunch of people. Life in Mystic Falls would be so boring without the constant pile of dead bodies.

House

Because Dr. House is my hero. Anytime you get to give someone a piece of your mind and still keep your job is the poo if you ask me. This is how I learn to speak medical. I’m trying to be fluent so I can understand Athica, because all I hear are clicks and whistles.

Gossip Girl

This one is my guilty pleasure. I’m so happy that Little J is going to be MIA for a while this season. Thank you Baby Jesus. Now if you can straighten out the nightmare that plays this character, I would appreciate it. Amen.

Even though Chuck got a cap in his ass on last season, we all know Mr. Bass isn’t dead. Here’s to hoping that the “evil” Chuck and Blair come back and that Serena drops out of the musical boyfriends game she’s been playing since the show began. We get it. Every guy wants her. Next!

Note to self: Try to get a life this season

So, Athica, Athip and I left Dallas for Las Vegas last Sunday. We stayed until Wednesday. We stayed at Aria, which is between Monte Carlo and Bellagio. Up until a few weeks ago, I had no idea that hotel even existed. The last time I was in Vegas, Planet Hollywood was called Aladdin.

Anyway, for people who don’t really go out and party at night and can’t gamble – there wasn’t much to do in Sin City. We walked around a lot. We ate a lot. We slept in a lot. It was pretty great. Well…that is until Athip got food poisoning. I’ll tell you about that in a second.

My siblings and I had planned on seeing a show. We had gone back and forth between a few of them. Ka (Cirque du Soliel), Vegas The Show, The Ultimate Variety Show and so on. We wanted to go see something entertaining and fun for the whole family. So on Monday night we saw Holly Madison’s Peep Show. Yep. Sure did. It was fun. Not what I expected though. I mean, yes, I expected to see boobs. However, when you see signs up everywhere saying “Starring Holly Madison”, you’re thinking it’s starring Holly Madison. It should have been more like, cameo appearance by Holly Madison. It was still good though don’t get me wrong. We got to see her boobs. We’ll call it a day.

Anyway, by the time the show ended and we got back to our hotel room, Athip was starting to complain about feeling puny. He soaked in the tub for a while and felt light headed when he got out. We thought all was good when we turned off the light and said goodnight. About a half hour later I was woken up by the sound of someone heaving and a loud splash coming from the bathroom. Poor Athip. He had projectile vomited all over the marble floor.

Just between you and me, it was the nastiest thing I’ve ever seen. Seeing as how Athica is working towards becoming Dr. Athica, I told her to take care of him and I’d clean up the puke. It took me a while to clean it up. Not because there was a lot of it, which there was, but because I had to take about 20 breaks. I almost added to the pile a couple of times.

So, Athip was super sick throughout the night. We should have known. The kid always gets food poisoning on vacation. That’s his bag. We think it was from eating at the _____ buffet. I won’t name names.

Anyway, Tuesday was pretty much a wash. We did nothing, but hang out in the hotel room. We all kind of just slept from exhaustion throughout that day. Athica and I did walk over to CVS and picked him up some necessities. Gatorade, aspirin, apple sauce and what not. Things that he would need while he was feeling puny.

I was kind of glad that Tuesday was a rest day. I was tired of all the walking around. I walked so much, I had to Ace bandage my right knee. Every time I lifted up my right leg, my knee would scream in pain.

By Wednesday (the day we were leaving) Athip felt a lot better. It was nice to go away with my siblings and have a mini vacation, but I was ready to come home. It’s not the same without the parents. Plus, I missed Boog and Jack.

It was around 80 degrees when we landed at DFW. The weather here has been so nice! It was hotter than a mother when we left for Vegas last weekend and now it’s really kind of mild. I hope this weather lasts. I can’t take much more of the 100+ degree weather!

What a crazy Friday! Thursday night, we got a call from my aunt (my dad’s sister). She told us that my grandfather was not doing so well. His health hasn’t been good for a while and she is thinking that it’s any time now. So, Friday I spoke to my boss about me possibly going to Thailand this coming week. We would still need to hear the final word from my aunt, but if it was a go, we’d leave pretty soon.

Everyone was really great about it. I’m not a workaholic, but I do feel ownership and responsibility so I asked if they could put the company email on my phone so that I could check in every now and again while I’m away. My boss dismissed that right away, because she didn’t want me incurring costs. She offered to get me a company phone if I really wanted to stay connected. So, before I could snap my fingers I got a phone with international capabilities.

My aunt called us again last night and it seems that granddad is doing a lot better. He’s eating on his own and he’s more engaged than he has been. She told us that we didn’t have to come yet, because it looks like he’s improving. I’d still like to see him though and plan on going to Thailand sometime in the near future.

So, as originally planned, my siblings and I are heading to Las Vegas tomorrow. It’ll be nice to get away for a while. I will try to keep you posted!

Do you recognize this place? I suppose if you don’t live in Dallas, you wouldn’t. Also, if you’ve never been to DFW International, you wouldn’t. And I guess if you’ve never been to this terminal, you wouldn’t. Okay, I’m just going to tell you. This is Terminal D!!! It’s my favorite terminal at DFW. FAVORITE!

It was very quiet there last night. Except for this gentleman riding on this Zamboni machine. Okay, I know it’s not a Zamboni. A floor sweeper?

And here is this creepy art display that’s in the lobby area of Departures. It’s called “Standing Ovation”. Every time I see it it creeps me out. A whole bunch of hands that go all the up towards the ceiling. I’m getting the heeby jeebies just looking at this picture.

This is why we were at Terminal D last night. We were at Terminal D, because someone was on one of these flights, from one of these cities. That someone would be my sister. Athica is home for two weeks! It will be nice to have her home. Then we’re off for a siblings only trip to Vegas. More on that later.

So, yesterday was kind of a crappy day. Work was busy and people were annoying. The cherry on top came at the end of the day. On my way out of the office, I stopped to use the restroom.

I dropped my security badge into the toilet.

After I used it.

Before I got a chance to flush.

I thought about leaving it there and flushing it away, but with my luck it would have gotten stuck and caused a flood. Then they would tie the badge back to me and I do not need that kind of heat.

So, I went in after it.

I bathed in lysol and clorox last night.

The end.
