I’ve never been into all the girly bath stuff. Yummy smelling soap and even yummier smelling shampoo is all I need. That is until I decided to invest in body scrubs and polish. I tried the Aromatherapy and Spa stuff at Bath and Body Works. I find that they’re very heavy in smell and incredibly oily. I always felt so greasy after using the scrub that I would soap and wash again just to get “clean”. I’ve since found out that you’re suppose to leave the oily stuff on. It’s suppose to moisturize. Okay, fine. User error.

I haven’t had the opportunity to try the organic scrubs from BBW. They look like they smell nice and light. Except they’re kind of pricey. They’re like $22 a jar. That’s a lot of money for me to spend on a small jar of body scrub. I mean, you can get a big jar of St. Ives scrub for less than $10 at Wal-Mart.

I should probably look into the St. Ives, but I have a weakness for the body polish at Victoria’s Secret. It’s less expensive than the organic stuff at BBW, but it’s still more expensive than the St. Ives. If you’re looking for a body polish, I recommend Naturally Victoria’s Secret Goji Berry and Mango Body Polish. They have three other scents, but I like this one. To quote Nacho Libre, “It’s the best!”

If I have to build another database, I’m going to start banging my head on my desk. I don’t know how I got the reputation of an Excel whore, but it’s starting to bother me. Apparently, not a lot of people are aware that you can build databases in Excel using functions and codes. They are, however, aware that if they can bypass the programmers all together and get what they want by getting me to help, they’re going to do it.

I know what you’re thinking. I could say no. Well, it wasn’t like I volunteered. I was drafted yo. I guess I shouldn’t complain, because I could be doing what Charlotte’s doing. From the way she keeps yelling out in frustration to no one in particular, I think I’m good where I am. It’s bad enough that I’m going cross eyed looking at functions and formulas. No need to add crazy yelling to the mix.

So I had the oddest conversation the other day with a guy friend.

guy: “Cathalee, you are a special girl.”

me: “Like stop eating the paste special?”

guy: “No. Like I want to put you on public display special.”

me: “Okay, freak show, but I want a cut of the profits.”

I’m going to a funeral today. I’m going to a funeral of a little baby girl that I never got to meet, but oh did I want to meet her. Her mother and I have been friends for almost 10 years. I went to her parents wedding over a year ago. I’d never seen her parents so happy.

I don’t know what to say to her parents now. They are my dear friends and I don’t know what to say to them. As of a month ago, they didn’t have a name picked out yet. My friend started calling her daughter Ebitda after hearing her husband saying it over and over again on business calls. Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation and Amortization. EBITDA.We thought it was kind of cute. To us, she was known as Ebby.

Her mother wanted me to teach her how to knit. I can’t knit anything but scarves so I told her that I couldn’t teach her how to knit booties or baby blankets. I told her that I knew how to make no sew fleece blankets though, but she wasn’t allowed to make one. I planned on making a baby blanket for Ebby as a gift.

Ebby came too soon.

Well, I guess we can’t call her Ebitda any more. You see, her parents finally did pick a name for her. So, today, I’m going to go say goodbye to Maya.

The dog trainer came last night. We spent the entire time outside learning how to walk. Hana and Jack were perfect little angels for the dog trainer. I think it has something to do with him being over 200 pounds and 6 feet tall. I’m not allowed to let Hana corral me any more. I’m not allowed to let Jack get ahead of me any more. I have to be tough.

Many of my neighbors who were driving towards their complexes, slowed down to watch our training session. I’m sure they were all thinking the same thing. Good for her. It’s about time. I’m tired of seeing her being dragged around. This one neighbor came out with her two dogs (a German Shepard and another large dog) and they went nuts when they saw my dogs. Jackson and Hana tried to act up, but the trainer put a stop to it. My dogs sat there and watched the other dogs silently while my neighbor struggled. She ended up taking her dogs back in, but came out with just the German Shepard and watched us train. I was like - Hey don’t piggy back off my lessons. Pay for your own!

So, tonight I took them out separately. I took Hana out first and we had a really good walk. She tried to pull me a couple of times, but for the most part she walked with me. She even kept her eye on me which was great. She would watch me out of the corner of her eye and if I slowed down, she would slow down.

Jack doesn’t pull like Hana, but he likes to walk in front of me. This is something that he’s not suppose to do. I had to correct him many times. We are suppose to walk side by side Jackson Edmond! It was breezy outside today so Jack really enjoyed himself. He loves it when it’s breezy.

All in all, we had a wonderful walk tonight. Sigh.

Hopefully, tomorrow will be just as nice…

I had chicken wings that I didn’t know what to do with so I decided to marinate them in HiddenValley Spicy Ranch salad dressing, paprika, garlic powder, salt and pepper. Why? I don’t really know. It sounded good at around 10PM last night.

I marinated the wings over night, but then what? Krista was talking about fried chicken at work today, so I thought I could do my version of fried chicken. I remembered this recipe for fried chicken that had nothing to do with frying. It was baked chicken that looked like fried chicken. Are you lost?

I had some Panko on hand so I decided to coat the wings in Japanese bread crumbs.

I baked the wings in the oven for 45 minutes at 375 degrees. It looks like fried chicken, doesn’t it?

It tasted okay, but the texture was kind of weird. The Panko was really crispy, but kind of crumbly. I don’t think fried chicken should be crumbly. Should it? I think next time, I will season the bread crumbs, because it was kind of bland. It’s a good thing the chicken was well seasoned.
