Anyway, I thought I’d share a picture with you.

This is baby Zoey. Yue and Justin’s baby girl. Last Wednesday I was instant messaging Yue about Korean BBQ. She had a craving and decided to go to Omi that night. I think the Korean food was too much for Zoey, because she arrived the next day. Two weeks early.

Note to would be mothers – if you want to deliver a little early, go eat some kimchi. I wonder if Yue and Justin would mind if I started calling Zoey, Kimchi. Thai people have nicknames and that’s what we’re pretty much known by. I think Kimchi would be a pretty cute nickname for Zoey. I doubt Yue and Justin would like it though, but I could always call her that when they’re not around.

An nyoung ha seh yo (hello in Korean). I hope you’ve had a good weekend. I, for one, am exhausted. It’s been a Korean romantic dramedy fest with my mom this weekend and my eyes feel like they’re going to pop out of my head. It was around 3AM when I finally crawled into bed last night. That’s not so bad. In our younger days, mom and I would pull an all nighter with our Thai dramedies. I might be getting old and she is staying young, because by the time episode 6 rolled around, I was begging her to go to bed. She could have kept going, but I refused to continue. One of us had to be responsible.

The problem with watching Korean shows is that you end up wanting to eat Korean food. In particular Korean BBQ. I can’t partake too often because of my cholesterol and all, but I it’s so good. Korean Town is pretty out of the way for me so I don’t get to go there so much. Fortunately, there’s a Korean mega grocery store in Carrollton that has brought about a bunch of Korean shops and restaurants to the area. Thank goodness, because I can get my Korean food fix without having to book it to Royal and Harry Hines.

One restaurant in particular that I absolutely LOVE is Omi Korean Grill and Bar. I always get the buffet when I go and it’s a total protein fest. All you can eat beef brisket, marinated beef, BBQ short ribs, BBQ pork, BBQ chicken and pork belly that you grill yourself at the table. My FAVORITE is the pork belly. It’s basically uncured thick slices of bacon. Who wouldn’t love that???

Allan has been wanting to get the group together for Korean BBQ so maybe we’ll go. Damn you Korean dramas! Must you make me crave food all the time?!

Anyway, as an update to my earlier post about the spin brush – I haven’t purchased one yet. I’m still debating, but I’m not very good at spinning the brush manually and sometimes my hair is way too messy. It looks more like a blow up than a blow out. All in good time I guess. I think the spin brush would make it easier, but I’m trying to be more responsible about money and all.

Some people say that it’s the greatest love story of the century. I never really saw it that way. Of course, history hasn’t been so kind to Wallis and Edward. He gave up a kingdom for her. How crazy is that? I don’t think I could do it. Even if I LOVE LOVE LOVE a man as much as Edward loved Wallis. Responsibility is responsibility and I couldn’t quit being a Queen. Of course on the other hand how brave was he to leave it all for the woman he loved???

We can only speculate what the real and true story is, but this new movie makes me think of Wallis and Edward differently. It kind of makes me sad for them and it also makes me want to watch this movie.

Real quickly, I want to mention that if you’ve posted comments on my blog and don’t see it, it’s because it’s been filtered. I filter out all the weird spam comments. Unfortunately, sometimes legitimate comments get included. I can’t always tell what’s a true comment and what’s not so it gets deleted. This is just my way of keeping my blog clean. For those of you who are into football, it’s championship Sunday. The Ravens vs. The Patriots. The 49ers vs. The Giants. I’m not sure who I’m cheering for, because none of these teams are my favorite. I’m sure by the time the games roll around, I’ll end up cheering on someone. In the meantime I’m watching Barclay’s Premiere League football (soccer to us Americans). It’s Arsenal vs. Manchester United. This is a pre-recorded game, since England is 7 hours ahead of us I believe. Manchester United won by the way, 2 to 1.

I just want to mention how interesting it is to me when I watch Everton play. Their sponsor is Chang Beer, which is a Thai beer. The interesting part is seeing Chang on their jerseys and Thai words flashing around the pitch.

Do you know who’s beautiful? Fernando Torres. Too bad he hasn’t been as productive as the Blues were hoping for him to be. Especially, since Chelsea is paying so much for him. Which reminds me… Please let Yu Darvish be worth the price tag. Even though it has been super to go to the World Series two years in a row, it would be even better if we actually won.

By the way, it’s starting to look sunny out there. I told you.

I’ve been sick this past week. I ended up with a cold after going to Yue’s baby shower. I can’t seem to shake it. At least I’m not coughing as much, but I really wish the runny nose would let up. It’s pretty yucky. Oh to be mucus free.

Sorry, for the random jumps in topics of discussion. It’s been a while since I’ve actually chatted. Usually, I’ll post some pictures or a video and comment on them. Not much comminicato if you know what I mean.

For those of you who’ve known me or seen me throughout the years, you may have noticed that I’ve grown my hair out. If you’ve been following my blog for a while, you’ll know that I’ve been trying to grow my hair out for years. Up until the past year, it’s been an epic fail. My hair is past my shoulders now. Pretty much around my shoulder blades. The problem is that I’ve had short hair for so long, I’m not really sure how to style long hair. I’ve just been straightening it out, but my mother hates it. She doesn’t like super straight hair. She likes for me to curl the ends in to give it some shape.

After almost a year of straightening my hair, I finally agree with her. Of course, it has a lot to do with seeing pictures of the Duchess of Cambridge and her lovely locks. I’m completely rubbish at curling my hair so I won’t ever be able to get Kate’s curls, but I can at least get her blow out look. I finally have hair long enough to do a blow out and of course I went to YouTube to learn how to do it.

I’m not coordinated enough to use a round brush and a hair dryer like some of the ladies who posted tutorials online. Plus, it would take me forever and it would make me late for work if I attempted to use two tools. Fortunately, I found this video of Tanya Burr whose YouTube channel is Pixi2woo (not to be confused with Sam and Nic from Pixiwoo). The tool they are using is the BaByliss Big Hair Rotating Brush.

I don’t think you can find this tool in the States. I could be wrong, but it looks like it may only be available in the UK. A similar tool that we can get here is the Conair Inifiniti Pro Spin Air Brush. Anyway, this is a tool that I knew would be terrific for me, because anything that requires less work is aces in my book. Fortunately for my pocketbook, Athica already had an air brush. Of course, this one was bought when we were in high school and does not rotate. I have to rotate it manually, but I get the same result. It just takes a little bit longer than the rotating one. Despite it’s old age, this tool works very well!

I do want to mention that even though these air brushes blow hot and cool air, it is not a substitute for a hair dryer. It works best on slightly damp hair.

I’m still debating on whether I want to get the spin air brush, but for now I am just going to put some muscle into it and use the one I have.
